This week, the U.S. Department of Labor quietly dropped FMLA guidance that answers two questions employers constantly get wrong.

✅Yes, FMLA can cover reasonable travel time to medical appointments, even if the certification doesn’t spell it out.

❌And no, partial-week school closures don’t magically add or subtract FMLA time.

The math hasn’t changed, but the risk of misapplying it absolutely has.
